Dr. Barry Richter
Dr. Richter has been practicing in the Cayman Islands since
April 2000 and maintains a busy office practice as well as
obstetrics and traditional and advanced endoscopic surgery.
His qualifications are: MBChB, LMCC, M.Med(O et G), FRCS(C).
He trained in South Africa and obtained extensive
work experience as the only OB/GYN covering a large area in
northern British Columbia, Canada, between 1991-1993. His
interest and training in advanced laparoscopic procedures
started during this time. He attended many courses and proctorships
in advanced hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery, at the
same time obtaining the necessary examinations for registration
as a specialist OB/GYN in Canada and the US. He also trained
gynaecologic surgeons in advanced laparoscopic procedures
while practicing in the US between 1993-2000.
At the present time he is on the permanent
registry in Canada and maintains active registration in South
Africa and the Cayman Islands. He is licensed in New York
and Pennsylvania (currently inactive status). He is active
in continuing medical education and voluntarily maintains
certification in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons
of Canada through their program.
Dr. Harry Reich
Dr Richter is very proud to be associated with Dr Harry Reich.
His achievements are too many to mention here. He is a pioneer
of laparoscopic surgery and is considered one of the greatest
gynaecologic surgeons ever. Dr. Richter is grateful for his
guidance and teaching.
Because of Dr Reich's training Dr Richter
is able to perform world-class advanced laparoscopic procedures
previously not available in the Caribbean. Dr Reich operates
here approximately every 3-4 months and we will be happy to
discuss referrals to him especially in cases of advanced endometriosis
and adhesions.
